I’m pleased to be taking part in PhotoPrintDay, which Jim Mortram has organised on Twitter. His idea was for photographers to offer affordable photographic prints for sale, with all the proceeds going to charity.

I have selected three prints to contribute. One is an image of a delightful harbour seal poking its head from the colourful ripples courtesy of a nearby houseboat titled, “Rippled.” One is a serene seaside scene titled, “Blue Yonder.” It’s hard to express how calming it was standing where I was at the time, looking out to the sea. The third is a scene I came across while driving to visit family. I had to turn around and drive back to the scene. I unpacked my gear and took only the one image. It’s still one of my favourites, “Harmony.” All images are taken in the province of British Columbia in Canada.

As is often the case, photographs of photographs don’t give the actual print true justice. The quality is far better in person.

The prints are printed on substantial Fine Art paper by a professional photo lab. The prints are 8″ x 10″ with the images being surrounded by a 1″ white border to allow for ease of signing and framing. Each will be signed.

The rules of PhotoPrintDay are simple:

Exchange any print for a minimum £10 donation (First come first served, donators can donate more than the minimum, no problem) and since I’m in North America, I’m using $10 donation as the minimum.

Donor provides a screen shot showing date, time, and donation to a non-profit charity. It is up to the photographer offering prints to determine a particular non-profit or to leave it wide open to the donors. So I am requesting donations go to an animal rescue charity of your choosing OR to Galgo del Sol.

The packaging and postal costs are to be sorted out between photographer and donor. I am absorbing the costs of packaging and postage to anyone in Canada or the USA. If the donor is outside Canada or the USA, postage will be their responsibility.

I will be posting my offerings on Twitter September 3 and again on September 4 if they are still available.
