capcoffee-1Every morning I make a fresh cup of cappuccino for my  husband and myself. It’s a ritual we’ve been enjoying for at least 15 years. Each morning we sit with our cappuccino and chat for up to an hour before he heads off to work. Then I make my way to my  home office and our work day begins. When I’m out of town as I had been last weekend and will be again this coming weekend, I seek out a suitable purveyor of quality coffee. Recently and coincidentally, in the same building as our Edmonton condo, an amazing business has opened up. Credo is where we find a perfect cappuccino when in Edmonton. I used to head to a nearby Starbucks but, forgive me Starbucks, I’ve found an even better morning coffee. The place was featured on the evening news because of its already-faithful following and because of their practice of buying only quality fair trade beans. Not to mention those great leaf designs on every cup of coffee, whether it’s a cup of cappuccino or a bowl of latte. Art in a cup.

What is your morning ritual?

  1. I love these coffee images…gorgeous bokeh! I can practically smell it through the computer. It looks like you have lots of wonderful things lined up for 2010, and I look forward to seeing your gorgeous work.

  2. That looks so yummy! I love coffee, too, but am not a morning person so I’m in a rush everyday when I go to work. Tony does make me coffee for the road (very sweet of him) so I don’t have to drink the yucky stuff we have at work.

Do you know…I go to various coffeehouses all the time and I’ve never had a design put on my cappucino, latte, whatever? I keep waiting.

  3. I am a coffee drinker too, though I drink decaf because I’m breastfeeding. I stopped drinking while I was pregnant and boy I missed it. I started decaf when my first son was about six months old (after quitting for that pregnancy too), and I’m not going back to regular. I think I feel better withou caffeine. But I love the comfort of a cup of coffee in my hand each morning. I imagine there will be a day when I can sit and savor it without interruptions again.

  4. Diane girl !
That picture(s) is perfect and we used to drink many of them while in Europe .. some how we fell off course but coffee is a must first thing in our house .. we have two coffee makers because I get up very early and need very strong coffee while hubby gets up a little later and needs not so strong a coffee .. so two coffee makers was the most logical solution ? LOL
    Joy : )

  5. Ha ha, this is our favourite Edmonton coffee place, honestly Starbucks is the last place I’d ever go for coffee, but a sweet non coffee drink they do very well.
Our favourite weekend ritual is to go to the Granville Island Market, have a coffee at JJ Bean (hubby) a matcha at the Granville Island Tea Company (me) and blueberry scones at the blue Parrot (all 3 of us). then it’s outside to feed the pigeons and go for a walk about around the island. How I do love Saturday mornings. 🙂

  6. My morning ritual is rush rush rush. I only wish I had the time to make cappucino, much less enjoy it. However, I know it’s the season in life that I’m in. My last great cup of cappucino was in Italy…I miss it.

  7. Generally – I’m not an early morning coffee-drinker..but when in Italy – I fell in love with real Italian capuccino!!!! Mostly – here at home – it’s a cup of tea..and bowl of cereal. So very uninspiring….
    Lovely image!!!

  8. Diane, I love that bokeh!

I get up first in our house, so I make myself a cup of tea and enjoy it while watching the weather forecast so I can tell my kids how warmly they should dress. (And then only my youngest child listens and wears a winter coat!)

  9. oh dear, that’s where my addiction thing comes in… i hold off on having a diet coke as long as i can….because i don’t drink coffee…and i am usually trying hard to wake up after staying up too late enjoying the quiet in my studio… 🙂 i love toast and peanut butter in the morning, but try my best to have scrambled eggs, or some form of protein instead. then i work at waking my teenager up and getting him out the door on time. and after that…sigh…… i walk into the studio and get to what i love….

    xxo, kim
p.s. LOVE LOVE LOVE this image!
