Diane’s Style
If you’re interested in things like mouse pads or tote bags with your kids’ faces printed on them, hanging newborns in nets or moulding them like still life, making shortcuts or compromises to offer a cheap product, or plastic surgery through photoshop, I’m probably not the photographer for you. For those who are looking for genuine moments, with some laughter tossed in, plus portraits & albums of the highest quality, we’re going to get along quite nicely. I’m looking forward to meeting you and capturing the real you!
How Many People Can Be Included in a Session?
It can be one person, a couple, or any number of people. Although Family sessions are generally up to 5 people, I will happily include more people in a family session at $10 per additional person (group photos take longer during the session and much longer after the session when I’m working in the digital darkroom).
How Long Does a Creative Session Take?
The regular creative session can be up to 1-2 hours in duration although I do conduct mini-sessions during the year which are much shorter. I announce those reduced rate, mini sessions right here on the photo journal (aka blog) — subscribe in your RSS reader so you don’t miss the announcements or sign up for my monthly newsletter (send me a note and I’ll get you on the list).
How & When Should We Book a Session?
Anywhere from a month or two months in advance is sufficient, although I can occasionally accommodate you sooner. Please check the “Availability” button on the menu bar of my website for dates I am already booked. Since I prefer to work part time, I limit the number of sessions I book each month.
The full session fee is required upon booking to reserve your date. This non-refundable fee secures the date and time of your creative session.
How Far Will Diane Travel?
Anywhere you like! Commonly I cover the Grande Prairie, Wapiti, and Peace River Regions in Alberta as well as the North Peace Region of British Columbia. I am pleased to give you a quote (more reasonable than you may think) for locations beyond this usual area.
Since I travel to Edmonton, Alberta with some frequency I am often available in the Edmonton area (at no extra fee).
Online Galleries
It is against copyright laws to copy proofs from image galleries.
Online galleries expire at seven (7) days so it is highly recommended that you make your purchasing decisions within that timeframe. There is a $25 relaunch fee to have your gallery reposted for an additional 4 days, should that be necessary.
All clients have the additional benefit of an in-home (your home) ordering consultation where I can again show you the products available, help you make decisions regarding print sizes, or assist you in any other manner to place an order that fits your needs and budget. Orders placed during the scheduled ordering appointment earn a 3% discount.
Prints, Portraits, and Custom Made Albums
All prints, portraits, canvas gallery wraps, and custom albums are colour corrected, appropriately edited, and are finished at a Professional lab specifically for professional photographers. All wall portraits are mounted on 2 mm styrene, as they should be, to protect your valuable portrait from creases, folds, or damage and is also intended for long life. I will not compromise quality for a cheaper and inferior final product. My portrait collections start from $300, wedding collections from $1600, and an average investment is usually $550.
Orders
Full payment for prints and photographic products must be received prior to sending your order for production. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or money order. If you wish to use your credit card, payment may be made using PayPal but a small service charge is added to the order . Orders take approximately 3-5 weeks from the time the order is placed.
Due to the custom nature of the work, all sales are final.
Images (important)
All images in your gallery are edited with my creative eye and the way I feel they look best and/or with my artistic view. Please browse the photos here and on my website; my hope is you select me because you appreciate my style.
Since my photographic philosophy is about capturing people as they are, my view on swapping heads is a very reluctant one. With group shots I do my best to capture everyone in a positive moment, but the reality when multiple people are involved, is that someone is apt to not be captured at the perfect moment coinciding with everyone else. To me these spontaneous moments reveal the actual moment and are to be embraced.
Any images not ordered, will be deleted. The balance of the images will be archived for one year.
It is illegal to alter or reproduce images whether by scan, screen capture, photocopy, printing, or any other means and is punishable by law.
Diane retains rights to images captured for uses including, but not limited to, marketing or advertising purposes, website or print display.
Client Requested Edits
There is a fee for any major edits requested by the client such as: removing or replacing backgrounds, switching heads or faces in a group, removing glare, etc. Payment for edits is required in advance.
