I thought I wouldn’t touch the computer all weekend, especially since it’s the long weekend. That’s why I wrote the last post. So it’s still the weekend and here I am — on the darn computer. It’s been enjoyable so far and I’ve been keeping my camera busy too. Here is a peek at a few images from my kitchen.

I love mornings. My kitchen is very small, though very bright, and early in the morning it feels as refreshing and alive as line-dried sheets. Even a dish of hand picked blueberries on my dark counter, over in the corner, is bathed in a ray of light.

Sure, I’ve also been doing more baking and poring through some of my oldest cookbooks. Inside many of the pages are sprinkled with decades-old splatters.

It’s the light, I’m sure of it, that draws me to spend so much time in here.

What is your favourite room of your home? What draws you there? {Hmmm, I may do a series on corners/rooms of my home.}

  1. you’ve made me miss my african violets. it’s been 20+ years since i had one so gorgeous and it died when we made a move. haven’t tried since. you’ve also inspired me to try again in the near future. i like the light.

  2. I love my living room because I am there most often. I enjoy the good paintings, the light, and my piano which takes up half of the space.

  3. For me it’s my kitchen, too. It’s a modest house in an average neighbourhood but whoever designed the kitchen (which is now 21 years old in a 43 year old house) nailed it: light, space, view and very practical. Love the blueberries shot.
