“Learn as if you were to live forever.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Autodidact: teaching myself new things. I’m taking that path and expect what I learn will be more than a different way to photograph. Although a project is quite intentional, I’m certain it will shift and change as I walk through paths and obstacles along the way.

Our mind needs new knowledge like a knife needs sharpening. So today I commence a year-long photography project. It’s much less about the technical aspects and much more about experimenting. As I mentioned in my last post, there are a trio of themes and perhaps, upon completion, I may have a much better understanding of my own personal style and preferences.

I’ve been out practicing plus, after a great deal of teaching myself the ins and outs of suitable venues for posting my photos, I’ve made a decision. Despite my initial balking, Instagram is the venue I’ve settled on for posting my project. If you’re interested in checking out or following my journey my images can be found at @observedbydiane.

Although today is Day 1, I haven’t yet selected a suitable name for my project. Friends and family have made some great suggestions, now all I need do is make a decision.

Again, all this inspiration has come from photographer and filmmaker Sean Tucker. Something good shall come out of this pandemic after all.

Wishing you a weekend of joy and discoveries.
