I’m so excited and really quite surprised. Several weeks ago I entered 3 images for an open call for photographs. It’s rare that Words to Shoot By has open calls for photographs but when I read the call, I thought what the heck! I’ll give it a shot. I never heard back so gave it no further thought. A short while ago I thought I’d stop by Words to Shoot By and look at some of their recent offerings. Well low and behold there is my trio of entries accepted as one of their guests for the word: water! I am thrilled and honoured to have my images selected among the talented photographers and unique images presented. Check it out … scroll down in “water” until you see the images from the selected guests. Yehaw!

While I’m chatting about photographs … I have this incredibly strong urge — again — to get back to film. I’m especially interested in saving up for a Hasselblad. I had no idea they were so darn expensive. But I should have guessed as much. What about you? Anything you have a strong or recurring hankering for?

  1. Your shots are beautiful, Diane. I noticed that quite a few of the others have that Instagram look (like a 70s Polaroid). I admit to preferring the clarity of your photographs.

  2. Wasn’t that a wonderful surprise? And your water photos are all superb. They do stand out from the crowd. But that’s a fascinating site. I must look at it more.

  3. Nice! Love yours of course and your blue merle Aussie looks SO much like my Zappa did from behind! I’ve also been thinking about film lately and wondering if I should dust off my old camera. If you ever hear of a Polaroid for sale — with film! — for a reasonable price, let me know!

  4. Well, I’d be happy to still have my old(formerly Dad’s) Folding Brownie, shooting 126.And my old darkroom. And enlarger.
But I am mucking along with the little Canon for now. This morning’s efforts, no enhancements, are on Flickr.
Where are you shopping for Hasselblads?
