Announcement: Your 8×10 Photos, Even Better Than Before

As I have been eluding to in the past month, I have a series of changes and improvements coming in 2010.

As all my clients already know, every single image you order that is over 8×12 is professionally mounted onto a hard substrate. This is done to protect your image from damage such as creasing or bending, for instance. It also makes framing much easier and ensures that your print lasts a lifetime without any form of damage.

One of my clients got me thinking about something. I had done a photoshoot for them, they had placed their order, and when she placed the order she mentioned that one image was specifically intended for her daughter-in-law as a thank you gift. Of course, many clients buy prints to give as gifts. I paid attention to what my client said and, knowing the significance of that particular thank you, I made the decision to have the 8×10 gift print professionally mounted for her — with my compliments. It didn’t end there. Since most 8x10s are usually given as gifts, I tossed around the idea of adjusting my policy regarding mounting. So, effective immediately, every 8×10 purchased will also be mounted for the same reasons I have all the larger prints mounted on a firm substrate. If the 8×10 is intended to fit into an album, however, I am happy to leave the print as-is. Now clients have the choice.

So that’s the first bit of news. Beginning now, all prints 8×10 and larger will be professionally mounted. So when you purchase an 8×10 to give as a gift, you will be even more proud to wrap it up for the lucky recipient because it has a much more sturdy and professional presence!

That’s a great idea, Diane. By the way, I wanted to tell you that I’m goingto write a series of columns about photography (geared to parents). Very excited. My first one, an introductory piece, will be printed this week.

I think that’s a great idea. The photos that you take are so wonderful, they deserve this extra little something to make them that much more special ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s my policy, as well, Diane. Actually, I do 5x7s, too. I ordered a print once from a friend and it came with a crease in it. It’s still in an envelope somewhere – didn’t bother to frame it.
